        It's not very good, my I7 9700k got 4.8ghz at 2.22v.

        I can do 5.0ghz manually at 1.290

        5.1ghz at 1.365v.

AI oc attemps 5.2ghz and fails.

        Best to do manual

just a warning that automatic overclockers overvolt the fuck out of any processor, increasing power draw and thermals, and maybe even decreasing lifespan

Wow wtf who would us this overclocking is pretty easy there’s not that much to it, there might be if your really gonna fine tune but it took me all of 2 min to get 5.1ghz on my 8700k. Still debating on the 9900ks or 3900x i know the 9900ks will be the gaming king but 12 cores brings many advantages. Now its an easy choice with them being close in price(3900x)but if the 9900k gets a %15 drop it would be close to $400 but i know they wont go that cheap maybe $430-450. Im still pretty sure im gonna get a 3900x and a crosshair viii or aorus master motherboard. I play at 3440x1440 and the cpu doesn’t matter as much, the only place intel will win the most is 1080p. And if your buying a 9900k or 3900x your probably not playing at 1080p unless its 240hz. I know 1080p still the most popular by a big margin but good 24-27in freesync displays that are gsync compatible are get cheaper. I just bought a lg 32in 144hz va panel freesync range is from 50-144hz(maybe 40) and its been great so far. At $320 its a damn good deal works fine with my radeon 7 and 2080ti. But my main display is a alienware 120hz 1440p ultrawide with gsync. I just hope we get some more ryzen 3000 and navi benchmarks leaked before the 1st. I usually never preorder but i have a filling the 3900x will be hard to get for about a month after launch. Ive always used intel cpu’s since my first build with a e8500 but this might be the first time an amd is in my daily driver rig. I have a 2700x now with a crosshair vii in my second rig its a great cpu just needs to be a little faster in gaming. As long as its pretty close in gaming im about 95% sure im switching teams.

what's the point of tools for OC when it can't achieve a good result as when doing manual oc. its not that hard to set clock speed and voltage higher than what it needs, it's basically an idiot software.

So you're going to pay 20 bucks for "insuring" your intel CPU in case you brick it by OCing it on top of paying almost 500 bucks for paying the high end core i9.

Just curious, if its making a new partition does that mean whatever drive it gets installed on will have to be wiped to make this work or is there some trickery involved?

This is done by the intel file in your windows/system32 folder.

I'm a hardware novice and really just enjoy playing video games at high settings with high performance. I know it's anathema to many PC enthusiasts to not really care about becoming hardware-proficient, but that fits my profile. This is a welcome tool for me.

Intel CPU's have been slowing down due to Spectre and Meltdown

I don't think intel is going to expand the list of cpus that can benefit from this; Think about it... why would Intel care enough to give something extra to the consumer? Just to get money... So it clearly is a way of persuading users to update to specific recent models.

If AMD wasn't outselling Intel with better value options at almost all the segments Intel would still be on vacation.
