@Bomby and Friends I one hundred percent agree. The next big hurdle in public education is making grades K-12 streamable. Anyone in the world would have access to a public education if you could stream grades K-12.

The author leaves a lot out. Fusion is a money pit because of mismanagement. Most of the money goes to the Tokamak......a device that no power company will buy

This videos are always limited to science that is "accepted by academic circles". The real problem is to understand is that the academicly accepted science is only there to serve big businesses. And have no intrest in serving us or the global enviorment. If you truly Realise how much influence money have on our accepted knowledge. You would be ashamed to not represent real solutions. Do you really think theese are the only solutions? The universe is electric and aboundant in electricity. Nikola tesla. Jhon searl. They are not scams. We cut down trees and print them to money. While there are real solutions not taken advatage of. Humans are destructive, rotten with big money and foolish.

It is much more than 10 billion dollar gamble. And btw, how do you imagine we will "mine" this Helium-3 on the Moon? Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of thermonuclear fusion, but this "mining" on the Moon is a problem, gently said.

"commercially viable" that shouldn't be a reason. With the growing demand for energy and absolute necessity to go green governments should be responsible for filling the need for energy. Taxes are being used for all kinds of stupid military shit, dead end projects and red tape, so paying for clean reliable energy should not be an issue.

Maybe filtered out? Is the fuel (water) lost or only the Deuterium in it? - Could fusion reactors later also be used for waste disposal especially for radioactive waste from nuclear reactors and hazzardous chemical waste? If yes having at least one could offset the costs and good for the environment world-wide. - As I understand it suns are able to create every kind of matter from the created Helium-atoms by combining them to larger atoms when the Sun "dies". Would it be possible with Fusion reactors to do this as well maybe in a later version? Or is this a sun-/supernova-only feature?

We lose about 200 billion tons of polar ice every year so 1.5 million tons is nearly nothing for the yearly energie demand of the worlds energy demand. In other words we would need 20000 years of fusion to use up the melted polar ice since 1992. And if could use up the water in the fusion reactor and not only the deuterium the ammount needed per year would be propably closer to 10000 tons per year.

Too bad though I thought maybe we could get rid of the environmental sins of the last 100 years with it by completly dissolving the problem into atomic particles. And it's good news, that the water is filtered not "used up" and could therefore be used for other things after it, e.g. desalination or at least returned in to ocean.

Fusion works with every element but the ammount of energy needed to start the fusion and the ammount of energy gained depends on the element. Fusion reactions have a net positiv of energy up to elements with the mass of iron, every element that is heavier than iron consumes more energy for the fusion than it releases. So in theory a perfect fusion reactor could use every element lighter than iron to produce energy, but to produce elements heavier than iron it would consume energy. Most radioaktive waste is heavier than iron so even a perfect fusion reaktor could not be used as a radiactive waste disposal. The Fusion reactor we are talking about would be just the first step and could only use the super light elements deuterium, tritium and helium. so only the deuterium in seawater would be used. To use heavier elements the temperature in the reactor has to be way higher than in the reactors today. Suns are able to produce elements heavier than iron because they lose energy in the process but the temperature or in case of the sun the pressure needed is even higher.

So if it works, it could probably universally solve some energy problems for the forseeable future. And if I understand it correctly, it's only the Deuterium in water they need. So they only filter it out? Not sure on this one some clarification would be welcome.

A nuclear reactor's failure runs a similar course as you mentioned for the fusion reactor, it runs away, the water boils off, and having lost the water used as a moderator, the reaction shuts down. Yes, overheated fuel can melt down and potentially escape containment, just as with the other. It does not explode. There can be explosions secondary to the meltdown, like the hydrogen gas explosions at Fukushima, or steam explosions from the rapid boil-off of water around the core. But not nuclear explosions. Anyway...point taken that it is still a messier event than a fusion reactor mishap, I just don't like re-enforcing the misconceptions people already have about nuclear power plants. Love the videos though, thanks!

Wind mills are harmful for insect population its just like out cars we kill billions of insects every single day. So the best way in all categories to get energy is nuke plants and fusion energy.

You need D-T fuel, Tritium and Deuterium. Also you need Hohlraum to ignite the reactor. And you need to charge up a big laser. (Charging up that laser takes so much time. Trust me. :D) You can watch some videos about Mekanism Fusion Reactor on JPclips
