I've never been given anything in my life, I work very hard for my 90k a year and need that money to feed and clothe my family. So you think I should give it to someone who is too lazy to use a little elbow grease? My friends complain about how much more I make, but when I tell them the company is hiring new employees they say "I don't want to do that" I like your channel, but not this video.

You keep saying "wealth transfer". What you MEAN is "expropriation of producers".

When you rely on the Government to write you a check, they will control what you say, do, and think.

“10 million caregivers aged 50+ who care for their parents lose an estimated $3 trillion in wages, pensions, retirement funds, and benefits. The total costs are higher for women, who lose an estimated $324,044 due to caregiving, compared to men at $283,716. Lost wages for women who leave the work force early because of caregiving responsibilities totals $142,693. [MetLife Mature Market Group, National Alliance for Caregiving, and the University of Pittsburgh Institute on Aging. (2010).“ The MetLife Study of Working Caregivers and Employer Health Costs: Double Jeopardy for Baby Boomers Caring for their Parents.]

Ask the people cutting their work hours or leaving their jobs altogether, what an extra $1000/mo would mean to them. Caring for a loved one is a huge burden and currently has zero value. The Freedom Dividend would take the stranglehold off the caregiver and I haven’t even mentioned the financial burden of the actual patient. VAT + UBI isn’t a cure all end all but it’s a start.

What a load of gullible naive wishful lazy hogwash shit. This is a variation of welfare with a new name.. Lazy people will do nothing and receive free money while workers get taxed more to pay for this shit and the wealthy will pay a little to keep the workers at bay.. Fuck off with your smoke and mirrors future visionary fairy tale bullshit sales pitch promising the freedom to do nothing and receive everything. The global economy is driven by slaves while the developed world wears a blindfold every time it goes shopping.

The Mad Cow maybe don’t blame the youtube blame the people encouraging it this channel may be bias at some points however it is fact, also they have studies in the description. Yes I do agree that people should work to earn money, but this is a good solution for those unable to physically work. But my general point is to not blame the channel but blame the people wanting to make this happen.

I was curious about the poverty line here in Norway because of this video, and since I live there and I did some research,.apparently, the poverty line in Norway is 20885 USD a year which is 1740 USD a month.

I also found out that if you don't have enough money at the end of the month to buy what you want, after paying for all of the daily necessities (like food housing cloth etc) you are considered to be living in poverty here in Norway.

Growing up I remember that some years my parents did not have enough money for my sis and I to go watch the cinema or for hobby like sports or painting. I guess we lived in poverty for some years relative to the Norwegian poverty line. Which is crazy because I had a pretty normal childhood growing up, except for those years I couldn't go to the cinema, but it wasn't bad either we had a roof over our heads and food.

Value added tax. Over 160 countries uses it. It taxes wants not needs and can be structured to tax luxury goods more heavily while exempting consumer staples like food, clothing, and medicine. If combined with ubi the poor would not be hurt by this.

Id join UBI for research. I kinda like the idea of not stressing and being able to pay my rent. Then using my income for future goals.

And the part about how welfare forces people to be lazy is so true. A guy at my work a casual employee is on welfare. Welfare gives him 500-600$ aud per week and about 250-300$ from his regular 2 shifts. If he gets extra work or holiday rate pay he in a week he looses the welfare then he can't afford to pay rent and general expenses. So instead he just does those 2 shifts and gets that welfare. And spends the rest of the week doing nothing and wasting time.

but many people abuse it because only some people can use it and it comes from peoples taxes. It also doesn't work if you owned, or own a company.

Taking money from "the rich" doesn't make sense to me. Everyone seems to think that those who are rich are those that have more money than them. High-middle class citizens tend to define themselves as average and the Kardashians as rich, where low-middle class people define themselves as average or poor and the high-middle class as rich. Who is rich is entirely up to individual perceptions. That's why the idea of taxing "the rich" is too vague of a definition that it's way to dangerous to vote for. If "the rich" is everyone that makes more than $100 a month, than almost everyone is getting hammered with insane taxes to help a small percentage of people.

If were being honest, i'm in my 20's, all I wanna do is work a part time job and get my 1K a month, that's it. I don't care to work full time, I want time to live my fucking life, chase my passions, and practice my hobbies. (drawing, guitar, fighting games) I don't care to travel and see the world, I don't care about owning a nice 3-4 bedroom home (you don't even own your house, you literally pay property tax till the day you die, so is it ever truly yours) I don't care about driving a fancy car. I just want a small apartment, oatmeal, ramen noodles, and the occasional fast food night out.
Seems like the only way to escape the 9-5 job is to get a following on the internet, launch a successful business (easier said than done) or go pro at something these days. It doesn't make me lazy either, a lazy person is someone who doesn't wanna do anything with their life. Working a shit 9-5 job doesn't mean you have a life.

This is a really bad idea. If this works the way I've heard many people say it will (using tax dollars), then that means we'll be paid by other people and we'll pay for them. Now what's the problem with this? Because it's not a direct exchange, the government can shave off portions of the taxes for itself under our noses, spend some of the taxes on other projects, and in the end just giving less total money to the people than was actually given to the government through taxes in the first place. If you want something done fast and done efficiently, do it yourself, or at least try not to trust that this person will tell this person to tell this person what to do with your money. Using this principle, we can vote for many government services to be turned into jobs so that poor people can gain money. Getting extra money aside from your job for doing nothing is not an incentive to do better, unless you have an inferiority complex and feel looked down on. The lack of money is what incentivises people to work harder. And what if they literally can't find a freelance job or a foreign job or just a job to work hard at? (which is really rare because there are still many jobs worldwide) They can vote to take government out of things we can do by ourselves, like take care of the environment or manage scientific advancement. Giving money to the government for doing nothing has the same result as if it happened to us. It's not an incentive to do better. In short, just be careful when throwing wads of cash at something you don't understand. Know exactly where your money goes and see that it goes there. If not, don't take the risk.

If automation expands far enough we won't actually have to work for money as everything we need to survive can be produced through automation. we won't even need the concept of money anymore because everything could be made automatically and for free. However, human progress will not be hindered by not needing to work for survival. People will still be driven to make new discoveries and innovations by fear of their own mortality and the drive to create a memorable legacy
