OOOWWW!!! A SPECTACULAR MOVE BY MICHAEL JORDAN!!! That call by Marv Albert was almost as iconic as the move itself.

I will get crucified for this ( and I love MJ to death ) but the switch was not necessary to make the basket.

He saw Perkins planning to contest the dunk. Look at the slow mo. If you think about it, what made it more impressive is not the switch itself, but his ability to instinctively make the decision to switch right at the very moment without even thinking about it. It's like "Im gonna switch this because Perk is gonna block it" but he already switched even before finishing that sentence.

Hard to explain but it's just majestic.

Picasso’s final stroke on one of his works may not of been necessary. But that’s what makes it a Masterpiece. Great ones have defining moments that captivate the world.

that's why he's not just a basketball player but an artist on the hardwood. Like a ballerina giving the fans a show with his God given creative ability while winning.

The real changing of the guard in the NBA the era of Bird’s Celtics, Isiah’s Pistons and Magic’s Lakers time ended in 91 and Jordan and the Bulls took over the league

That was the best two baskets in a Finals game. But Game 1 of the 1992 Finals against Clyde The Glide and Portland was the best performance. He hit like a dozen shots in a row scoring 34 in the first half and came down court with the famous "shrug". Kind of like, "when I'm hot I'm real, real hot" meant in that gesture.

This is what MJ said in his interview with Ahmad Rashad. "When I did that, Byron Scott said we were showboating at the end of the game, that we were winning and showboating. I never looked at it that way, but he did, and we never thought we could lose after that". Killer Mike

The greatest player of all time "The Air"/Michael Jordan
Kobe is not yet list on top ten greatest player of all time neither LeBron James.
Kobe is a better shooter than MJ
                                            Lebron is faster,stronger than MJ
MJ is clutch,posterizer,low-post master, scoring and have more spectacular MOVE and DUNK Than Kobe and Lebron.
Why I did say kobe say is not yet on the top 10 list because you only think that he is the only player who have the same move like MJ. Think about it first how about the legends like Juluis Erving,Oscar Robertson,Magic Johnson they are one of the greatest guard in nba history not Only Kobe.
But Kobe and LeBron has a great chance of becoming one the top 10 greatest player of all time

Both 82games.com and basketball-reference.com PROVED via their career made/missed shot charts, that MJ consistently shot a HIGHER FG% from 12-15 ft.

And for their respective careers, both shoot about the same % in 3pt% in the reg season, and the EXACT SAME % in the playoffs.

                                              But MJ shoots a HIGHER % in 3pt% (37% > 31%) in career Finals 3pt%.

So he's NOT a "better shooter".

Secondly, LBJ ADMITTED himself on twitter that he only runs a 4.6. MJ, both during his UNC days (and in his prime), is DOCUMENTED at consistently running a 4.2 - 4.3.

So yes LBJ is bigger. Yes he's "subjectively" stronger (maybe).

But he's CERTAINLY NOT faster by any stretch.

Robert Horry said that MJ was quote: "the strongest guy you could ever run into".

And Ron Artest said that he was quote: "[just as strong] as LeBron", which echoed sentiments expressed by Magic, when he said that MJ was quote:

"the strongest guard ever, and had strength like a Big".

And lastly, the guy that's trained MJ, kobe, and lebron, literally said the following when asked who's the better of the 3:

"Oh, Michael [no question]. From a [physical] and mental standpoint, he's [the best] I've [ever seen]. If he were playing [now], with the way the refs call everything, he'd [easily] average 40 or 50 a night if he wanted."

-- Tim Grover: "If kobe and Lebron play, we all win"; by Rick Reilly; espn.go . com, Oct 13, 2010

Michael Jordan had a love affair with his fans.  Although he played very hard for himself, I think he played even harder for his fans. Incredible effort, incredible talent, incredible artist, and flying through the air he said "here, this is something for you to enjoy."  So many players today are selfish, insecure, haughty, and lazy.  Players today are so needy.  The have to rally up the fan base to get energy.  When Jordan was playing, he was the energy that electrified the audience.

In the comment below someone said Lebron would've tomahawked it. If MJ dunked it instead, it'd become ordinary, just another dunk that'd be eventually lost along the plethora of dunks recorded in the books.

I disagree. LeBron would've simply done what was necessary. He would've made the correct basketball play ... whether it was to dunk it, shoot a floater, hang and kiss it off the glass, hit the open man for a three.

Otherwise you might understand that guys don't have a lot of time to react. Perkins looked like he was about to challenge for a split second, and Jordan reacted. And forget the fact that this is what Jordan is saying himself. But no, lets forget all that and go with what some random idiot on the internet thinks.
